SNR BLOG HOP

Happy 4th of July & welcome to Scrappin' Chick's blog.
I am a participant in Scrapbook News and Review “Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop". Military Thank You


(project for kids) this project was created by my 8yo son wo is an avid scrapbooker. He made this in the thought to give it to a member/veteran of our military. This one will be going to his great-grandfather.


Materials-

  • DCWV Fun in the Sun, Summer Glitter Matstack**/ from this 1 blue sparkle, 1 red sparkle
  • DCWV white card stock, cut to 6" x 10"
  • adhesive stars
  • silver or gold pen
  • 1 1/4" square punch
  • adhesive
  • file or sandpaper
  • "Thank You" lettering

Directions-

  • Crease white CS is half
  • Cut 2 1/4" x 2 3/4 from blue CS
  • Punch out 12 squares from red CS, cut all in half to form triangles
  • Sand or file edges of white CS
  • Put stars on blue CS, save 2 stars





  • Glue triangles onto white CS to make red "waves" of flag
  • Glue down blue on top left side of white CS





  • Highlight "Thank You" lettering w/ pen
  • Glue to inside of card, attach 2 stars















Completed "Thank You" card......








Patriotic Invite


Materials-



  • DCWV Fun in the Sun, Summer Glitter Matstack**/from this, 1 floral, 1 red glitter, 2 blue glitter
  • metal dots
  • ruler or straight edge
  • stars
  • "4th" lettering
  • glue dots
  • adhesive
  • razor/cutter





Directions

  • On back of red CS measure off 1/2" from each side & mark
  • On back of floral CS measure off 1 1/2" from each side & mark










  • Cut middle rectancles out of each piece of CS



  • Trim 1/4" off each side of the blue CS
  • Adhere floral CS to blue CS w/ glue dots
  • Adhere "4TH" to center of blue CS
  • Adhere red CS to floral
  • Add metal dots to corners














  • Crease top of 2nd blue CS at 1/2", towards back
  • Attach, securely to completed card front
  • Attach 5" x 3" card inside with "Invite Info" printed































Completed card.

It's coming....

Join us this weekend as we hop aboard the Scrapbook News and Review “Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop” There will be over 90 blogs participating in this massive event, with blog candy, ideas and inspiration al along the way. Latest LO's....from Christmas!

Thank God I have a crop coming up this Saturday! YEAH!! Thanks Noelle :O) I am working on Christmas 2008. Which I guess is not that bad, but I feel far behind! Every year I create an entire scrapbook dedicated to our Christmas which starts with decorating on Thanksgiving.
